It’s not every day your company is nominated for Organization of the Year by the Chicago chapter of the largest meeting and event industry association in the world. For Brella, that day came on July 12th of this year.
Meeting Professionals International Chicago Area Chapter (MPI-CAC) held their Annual Awards Recognition Gala last week, where they honor the talent and accomplishments of membership organizations and colleagues in the events industry. This year’s gala theme was “MPI-CAC Paints the Picture,” splashing vibrant color onto the evening’s guests and painting portraits of success with the nominees and winners.
Brella helped produce that gala for three years, stepping down this year to spread our wings and produce MPI-CAC’s NEXT ’17 event earlier in the spring. You can learn more about our ongoing relationship with MPI by checking out our case study, which highlights the importance of nurturing long-lasting client-vendor relationships, promoting trust and smooth collaboration.
Brella Productions joined the ranks of MGM Resorts, Wynn Encore Las Vegas, Caesars Entertainment Corporation, Visit Lake Geneva, and AFR Event Furnishings as the nominees for Hall of Fame Organization of the Year. This award recognizes organizations that have significantly helped or impacted MPI-CAC.
Our nomination came in large part from our work on this year’s NEXT ’17 educational tech conference as well as last year’s gala, creating and executing the night’s theme, producing the program booklet, providing an on-site producer, presentation specialists, and video support, and handling pre-and-post event marketing. This work was shepherded by Brella Co-founder Mark Mallchok, Events Department Manager Cary Williams, and Event Planner Amanda Bridges. Williams is involved in two committees nominated for Committee of the Year, the MPI Gala and NEXT Committees, and Bridges is the co-chair of the Holiday Party Committee and the Summer Networking Committee. Their work at last year’s gala, as well as the work and talent of our Brella teams, made this nomination possible.
“Brella’s very proud to be nominated among such great company,” stated Co-founder Mark Mallchok, “and continues to be dedicated in supporting MPI-CAC and the excellent work that they do for our industry.”
Mallchok and Williams were also nominated for the Eleanor H. Woods Supplier of the Year award. This award recognizes significant individual contributions of time, energy, and resources to MPI-CAC. “It was fantastic to be nominated,” said Williams. “All of the nominees are a great group of people whom I have worked with before, and they are phenomenal.”
Ultimately, Organization of the Year went to Caesar’s Entertainment Corporation for their stunning work for MPI as a whole. We want to congratulate Caesar’s Entertainment for their well-deserved win and entrance into MPI-CAC’s Hall of Fame. The Supplier of the Year award went to Michelle Castady of 360 Destination Group (and committee chair of NEXT), and we extend our warmest congratulations.
Brella is honored for this recognition and distinction from such an esteemed committee. We can’t wait to get started with MPI-CAC’s NEXT ’18 conference in early spring 2018. It’s never too early to plan another successful event.
