ROE Gifted Education Course
Challenge
The Challenge: With a mandate to increase state-wide access to their professional development course for teachers working with gifted students, the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) needed guidance in rethinking the design and delivery of their classroom-based training program.
Solution
We developed a flexible course platform and structure that allowed the training to be delivered in an instructor-led classroom setting, as self-directed learning, and as blended learning (mix of classroom and self-directed). This hybrid design enabled ISBE to make the course available to a greater number of IL teachers. Following this successful relaunch, the course became a pre-requite for the state’s Gifted Education certification.
