After the success of their 2014 fundraiser, the Youth Job Center of Evanston (YJC) asked Brella to pitch in again for this year’s gala. Well aware of their good works, we were more than happy to lend a hand.
YJC’s job-readiness and placement programs help disadvantaged teens and young adults take their first steps down the path to career development. Over the past 32 years, they have aided more than 20,000 young people, placing an impressive 45% of them in jobs throughout the area.
This year’s gala took place on Saturday, April 18, at the luxurious Morgan Manufacturing lofts in Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood. Brella provided pro bono services which included developing the theme for the night (“ReImagine”), and producing a three-minute video highlighting YJC’s development and enrichment programs.

The evening featured a banquet, live and silent auctions, and moving speeches from young people who have directly benefitted from YJC’s programs.
Ten Brellians came out for the big night, including motion graphics queen Amber Webster (instrumental in creating the video) and Vitus Wong, who designed the “ReImagine” logo. Caught up in the spirit of giving, the Brella contingent banded together to make a pooled donation to the cause. Take a peek at the YJC website to see why we couldn’t resist.
